00:26:55 Open Assembly: Cory Hymel // Gigster
00:27:08 Steve Rader: Got to chat with Cory recently and he has some really great insights!!! Great to see you on Cory!!!
00:27:14 Open Assembly: Craig Short // Gigged.ai

00:32:11 Carin: how do we define and measure cognitive distance?
00:36:23 Rich Wilson: Check out the platform demo and give us a follow..
00:38:53 Cory Hymel: Replying to “how do we define and…”
we define*** it as the degree to which the meanings conveyed by group members in a given set of interactions diverge from one another
00:39:28 Cory Hymel: Replying to “how do we define and…” we use computational linguistics and some fancy math to create the measurements
00:41:17 Open Assembly: Shawn Fields
00:41:47 Open Assembly: Steve Rader
00:44:53 Open Assembly: San Rahi
00:50:58 Patrick Armitage: 100% agree with teaching them how to use AI, it’s like teaching someone how to ‘do art’ and use it to bring ideas to life. Or use math to prove out an idea.
00:51:15 Ashley, UntapSocial: Reacted to “100% agree with teac…” with 💯
00:51:27 John Healy: Reacted to “100% agree with teac…” with 👍
00:53:17 Carin: the people who are really going to struggle are those who are not embracing it but get squeezed when the prices drop when the people using freelancers will put pricing pressure on outputs…
00:53:31 Open Assembly: Worth a listen. Sal Kahn
00:55:37 Steve Rader: GenAI Whisperer…
00:55:58 Link: There are people boycotting AI in rural and less populated areas and they are making good cases too. Until this world attempts to bridge with that world and find a way to meet in the middle, then there will be strife between those that adopt AI and those who create laws against it.
00:56:23 Link: There are voices missing in this conversation I am sorry to say
00:57:55 Patrick Armitage: As I use ChatGPT today to create content/review my writing today, it gives me ideas from LLM training – inc flourishes of language and more succinct communication. But, I would like AI to learn who *I am* when I am at my best and help me at my best more of the time. Then it goes from helping me be 20% more efficient to 60% more effective. Of course I have to trust AI like I trust a friend or partner to know my strengths and weaknesses.
00:58:12 Bob Pulver: Reacted to “There are people boy…” with 👍
00:58:12 Pick My Brain: Just on-boarded our first chat GPT coach on Pick My Brain this week. She is helping individuals and companies boost productivity using chat GPT. She’s got a Masters in education, former teacher, former founder who has exited, and fell in love with chat GPT and is looking to gift 100 sessions before the end of the year and help 3 SMB companies apply chat GPT to their specific needs to boost productivity. Prediction: We will be seeing and need more chat GPT coaches, consultants, Etc.
00:58:38 Cory Hymel: Reacted to “100% agree with teac…” with 💯
00:58:44 Bob Pulver: Reacted to “As I use ChatGPT tod…” with 👍

01:00:29 Carin: @Patrick Armitage — here is a recent piece about the impact of AI on empathy and how people are using it as digital twin, romantic companion, to have a sceance with dead loved ones, etc
01:00:33 Carin: https://medium.com/@carinisabelknoop/artificial-empathy-digital-dependency-and-the-loneliness-epidemic-exploring-connections-and-8aec1ce84fd
01:00:36 Link: Whether the boundary setting is removing the freedoms of innovation
01:00:44 David Ehrenthal: The question arises in my mind the degree to which AI advances society/humanity beyond productivity. There’s so much more to how we live and thrive than productivity and there may be deleterious tradeoffs that serve economic productivity but not emotional balanced and “happiness.”
01:00:55 Patrick Armitage: Reacted to “Just on-boarded our …” with 👀
01:00:57 Carin: Reacted to “The question arises …” with 👍🏻
01:01:07 Pick My Brain: Reacted to “As I use ChatGPT tod…” with 👍
01:01:18 Pick My Brain: Reacted to “The question arises …” with 👍🏻
01:01:57 Link: We will see lawsuits between people and organizations that use AI. There will be a push for policies and this industry is going to have to help set the parameters or the governments will do it for us
01:01:58 Bob Pulver: Replying to “The question arises …” Absolutely. Help me with my blind spots in decision-making
01:02:09 Carin: not a year… https://www.afslaw.com/perspectives/alerts/ai-v-ip-potential-fiasco-looming-new-wave-litigation-against-ai-platforms
01:02:12 Cory Hymel: Replying to “There are people boy…” there’s a tin foil hat conversation that consumer privacy and AI regulation has been consciously railroaded to keep the US at the forefront of development.
01:02:30 Rich Wilson: If you are in the UK, join us at our event to launch our new research on digital transformation: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/giggedai-presents-digital-transformation-in-crisis-the-human-impact-tickets-699028903267?aff=oddtdtcreator
01:02:42 Open Assembly: Reacted to “There are people boy…” with 👍
01:02:42 Link: Replying to “There are people boy…” Exactly but now AI is real to the naysayers because they can actually see it
01:02:43 Patrick Armitage: Replying to “@Patrick Armitage –…” Ty
01:03:08 Cory Hymel: Reacted to “not a year… https:…” with ❤️
01:03:36 David Ehrenthal: Replying to “The question arises …” Agree.
01:04:21 Todd Boyd: In one year there will be platforms that exist that include privacy and security
01:04:24 Link: Last words? Keep on innovating but look ahead at possible unintended consequences and don’t get too mezmorized by the possibilities
01:04:40 Steve Rader: Reacted to “Last words? Keep on …” with ❤️
01:04:43 David Ehrenthal: I really enjoyed the discussion, thank you.
